Our Ex PM blog site "chedet.com" reached a million visitors in one month and I reached only 100 visitors. Being a nobody i consider myself lucky to have even a single reader interested with my blog. I read his blog site today and i do have a few contradicting opinions with his. But i do appreciate and admire him in many ways. Despite my personal opinion that he is the one who should be blamed most for dividing the many ethnic minorities further and creating personal grudges towards the "So called Bumi's".
The word Bumiputra itself is so controversial. If i was born here. On this very same soil you were born on then that makes us both Bumi's. My grandfather was born here. So what makes me not a pure Bumiputra. The word itself is so influenced by Sanskrit.
Now the government protects the Malay by saying this land purely is a Malay soil. I've been to many countries. I've seen a few cultures and governments. Race does not rule a country. It is the people who do. The government cannot hide the truth forever. They can bend it till one fine day it will break and then I'm sure that even the word bumiputra would be changed. This might be far fetched or it could even be the near future but I'm sure of it. I don't desire to steal one's rice bowl or privileges. But I believe privileges is for the needy. If you think you need it then please apply. Because the government can use that money to help bring up our peoples standard of living. Because there is no way a country can subsidies everything to fight a global rise of commodity price. The basis of it is ridicules. How long can you go on doing it? The more you subsidies our basic cost of living the more vulnerable the people get. Then we all become puppets to the other power instead of the higher power. It is the same principle to fuel chargers for air travel. How long can you charge the people for it? At some point it's just going to sound silly. This country needs to be managed by people who are serious about progressing. Because we are so far behind in the world.
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

Embouchure
Embouchure means the method of applying the lips to the mouthpiece of a wind instrument. An interesting word that i think I'll never use in my entire life. Something even my ancestor wouldn't have thought off. But it makes you think about it.
The same experience i had a week ago. A good friend of mine came back from off shore after an oil expedition near Finland. So he called me up to catch up with things after his long trip. He told me two very interesting information. I call it information because i assume it is of some value. Anyways what he told me was that a rival company of his just discovered one of the worlds biggest oil field in Brazil. Isn't it odd how the world works. So 10-15 years from now we would see Brazil as the next most developing country in the world. It usually takes that long for the oil to reach the market. The other important information is there hasn't been any discovery of oil in peninsular Malaysia or even sabah and sarawak for past few years. The only discoveries nowadays are gas fields in sabah and sarawak. Oh...and Malaysia only has fuel reserve for 10 years.
So all those billions of ringgit that funds our countries administration to expeditions are going to come to an end pretty soon. Than what is our country is going to feed on. Out tourism sector is in the slumps. Our property market is starting to sink like Captains Jack Sparrows ship. And our manufacturing industry is being immobilized and shifted to china. Our Telemarketing and Call Centers are being shifted to India. We are buying Agriculture supplies from other neighboring countries to pump up our reserves and we spend our money having National Service for thousand of school leavers while we have an entire army getting paid to be on stand by. We could instead pay them better and give our military a dignified pay and image. We could build our racial ties by providing community services programs and rural developing projects. And leave NS to people who apply for it by giving incentives at the end of it like joining military schools and higher education sponsorship with Military Position after that. Or alternative routes to military ranking and points.
Our shipping and aviation industry is behind other Asia countries. There are more birds landing and taking off at KLIA than Planes do. We are not competitive because we are already out of the competition. Our banking sector is still so controlled by Bank Negara that we have so little room to explore and exploit. We don't even have any competitive edge against other Asian countries.
We always talk about making global ideas more in terms with our locality that we fail to see we are not matching ourself with the global market anymore. A once leading Asian country is now left far behind the race.
Our biofuel and biotechnology approach is good but we are still far behind from our European counterparts. But being a country rich with resources and minerals. We have so much more advantages in developing our economy. Something that I noticed in my recent trip to china is that they managed to use all their local materials to produce every thing they desire. There is no scrap mountain. Recycling is a big thing there. Everyone had a sideline job. You could find someone who knew someone who could get you what you wanted. They can build you anything to your specification. From the raw material to the final touch up. They are so resourceful and enterprising. I saw them build an overhead pedestrian bridge in 2 days. Malaysia is not much different from china. We have the equal opportunity as all the other Asian countries. Look at Singapore for an instance. They have nothing but yet they hold a more stable economy than Malaysia. They know what they have and they use it to their advantage. Our nation itself is an asset to our country. We have ample of ventures to explore. Lets make our own sequels of Indiana Jones adventures.

Section 4(1)(c) of the Sedition Act. Sounds familiar?
Another prominent figure was sent to prison lately under this Infamous Act. This time it's Raja Petra Kamarudin. A web master, who is famous for being on the other side of the fence when it comes to Malaysian politics. A strong opposition supporter. He went on hunger strike in prison after refusing to post bail and seeing anyone at prison. Even his wife. His statement "I didn't do anything wrong". He wrote in his website"Malaysia Today" about sending the Altantuya Murderers to Hell. Naming Najib and his wife being involved with the Mongolian girl murder. How dangerous is this article? We are not talking about racial or religion issues? Something i don't think anyone would go to the streets to seek justice. But enough to make one man uneasy till he had to flex his political muscle to silence Raja Petra. Something to think about isn't it. Raja Petra has finally called off his hunger strike and posted his bail today. And would be out tomorrow.
As a fellow blogger. I appreciate his effort and courage. Hats off my friend.

Another interesting news is The Syariah Court in Penang has allowed a Chinese convert to renounce Islam. A very rare and interesting development from Pakatan Ruled State Government. After waiting for half a century, Malaysia is finally seeing some real issues being argued in our parliament. Issues like enactment of the Freedom of Information Act, as well as abolishing the Official Secrets Act. And scandals like the purchase of Sukhoi and the submarines which involved the role of the Defence Minister (Najib Abdul Razak). BN's "Knight Rider", Khairy Jamaluddin was left stumped with Pakatan MP's return fire when he tried to argue this issues.
The Pakatan Rakyat candidates are working very hard not to disappoint the public that voted them into power. Something that we Malaysian have forgotten how that felt like. To see the people you voted work for the public.

History being butchered and twisted.
I got this article from malaysiakini. I found this article interesting. I do not have the facts write an article about this myself so i had to take it from the original writer"truth seeker". Thank you.
In the article, Azly Rahman states: ‘I had this question: what if Parameswara the assassin-prince - who was watching with thrill a mouse deer kick a Rottweiler into the Straits of Malacca - had sat under a durian tree and the fruit fell. What if it hit his head and he had to be taken back to Palembang to be hospitalised for concussion?
‘Would Malacca have been ‘founded’; would ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ have become an issue; and would the keris have been wielded at the Umno general assembly? I do not know. ’
It is no secret that Parameswara was an Indian and a Hindu prince until he married a Pasai princess and converted to Islam and adopted the Persian name Iskandar Shah. There seemed to be no problem telling the truth as I just expressed it during my school days. The school text-books were quite clear on this - but not today, I'm told.
Once again the ‘insecure’ Umno-led BN government had to wipe out any references to this famous Melaka prince as being Hindu and belonging to the powerful Hindu empire Sri Vijaya. So all of a sudden our museums, school text-books etc. all refer to Parameswara as a Malay prince. Umno's lying, mind you, is not confined to the mainstream newspapers.
You cannot change your race even if you convert and I'm appalled that Azly Rahman has joined this bandwagon in inferring that Parameswara could have been responsible for Umno's proud heritage of ‘Ketuanan Melayu’. If this is what it is based on, there is no ‘Ketuanan Melayu’. The lineage of Melaka Sultans are Indians, not Malays.
It is one thing for Umno to lie but for a columnist not to research his facts, it is disgraceful.
As Hitler's public relations manager, Goebbels, once said, ‘If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth’. This is probably what the ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ proponents are trying to do.
This is probably also why the lost city found deep in the jungles of Johor a few years ago and made headlines in the mainstream newspapers in 2005, suddenly disappeared from the news.
After all, this was an extremely important archeological find that pointed to one of the greatest empires in history, the Raja Cholan empire that ruled from the Maldives through India, Sri Lanka and right down to South East Asia.
Again I reiterate, this is Raja-raja Cholan, the Indian/Hindu kings and not Raja Chulan, a Malay king.
Frankly, it should not even matter to those of us who love history, like me. What race ruled or did not rule is besides the point. What is important is not butchering history to create your own truths. Those of us who are not racists are angry that we are forced to sound like one in defending the truth.
I don't even want to go near the subject raised about Hang Tuah being Chinese. Again, it should not matter. I'm sure the Chinese and Indians are not going to gloat and wave their staffs or swords and say: ‘See, all of you minuscule people, he is from my race’. This sort of pettiness comes only from small minds. What is important is to tell the truth as it is.
I end with questions from one baffled blogger: ‘Why is the study of Hang Tuah taken out from our school history text books? Even if Hang Tuah’s a different race altogether, what significance does it do to our history?’ Precisely.
So my question is, if this finding about Hang Tuah being Chinese is flawed, then why the disappearance from our text-books?

Samy V the Boss
Recently the call for UMNO party leaders like PM Abdullah Badawi, Education minister Hishamuddin and Federal Territory Minister Zulhasnan Rafique to step down. Shows how much of turmoil is brewing in the party. Coalition MCA leaders and party member are fighting among themselves to survive.
But MIC has been so quiet. This is truly the arena where MIC Chairman Samy Vellu is the champion. This is why he has been a Senior Minister for so many years. A legend. He could have won his last election seat. But he was caught off guard, he wasn't ready for Malaysia's new generation of politics. Especially the indians who became matured all of a sudden like instant Maggi. Malaysians actually started maturing after the BERSIH and HINDRAF rallies. Which took place late last year. Bringing forward the election was a wrong strategy by BN. Seeing them perform poorly at the elections.
But the issue now is not Samy Vellu but BN. DR Mahathir who started the initial calling for Abdullah Badawi to step down has now picked up momentum and UMNO members all around Malaysia are have started to join the bandwagon but not just to oust Badawi but many other party section leaders. This might be a genuine effort reform or just dirty politics at it's best.
Even Tengku Razaleigh has given a statement saying that Anwar probably be the next PM. Even tough Tengku Razaleigh himself is eying for the PM seat under the BN ruling. Anwar was the one who help build UMNO Sabah. So he has many strong allies over there. So getting a mere 30 parliamentary members to cross over might not be too far fetch as majority of BN seats are from Sabah and Sarawak. To be exact 54 out of 142 total BN seats won. And I'm very sure there is many in the Peninsular Malaysia who would be interested in jumping over as well.
So all this explains the outburst of UMNO members calling for immediate reform because people have lost hope in UMNO and Anwars growing power has given BN the shivers. I predict that UMNO will have it's party election before September. In this coming months we will be seeing many prominent faces being taken out. So let's watch what BN can come up with to win back their popularity. But my vote is against Race Based Politics. RBP is a sickness that Malaysia needs to recover from. The Malays in Malaysia are worried that their survival is being threatened and their future sold to the non-Malays by Anwar. Why do the Malays need to worry? If this makes you worried. Then Imagine all this years how the non-Malays would have felt. Put your feet in their shoes and see how their insecurity and deprivation has affected their lives. In Equality there is no master or slave. Those who need help is given help. We are all children's of this land. I wouldn't hurt my siblings and they wouldn't hurt me back either if we were all treated the same. What is there to quarrel or fight about if everyone is treated fairly and equally.
The human voice can never reach the distance that is covered by the still small voice of conscience. Mohandas Gandhi

Is Anwar Ibrahim Malaysia's next PM?
If you asked me. I would would probably say yes. He looks pretty convincing. He is in a position and situation where he cannot afford to produce lies. He might not be everyone's favorite choice but he is the man for the job for now. He is what Malaysia needs at the moment. We need a strong leader to drive this nation back to being one of the leading countries in Asia. Our government lacks political common sense. And Anwar has proven he has plenty of it. With his unexpected big success in the last general election. By Collaborating with other opposition parties and finding a platform for all parties to work together produced his desired outcome.
He has given a statement today stating it wont take him more than 3 years to be the next PM. I would be interested to see his line up for his cabinet. I am very sure the Indian support is still strongly hold by the opposition and for good reasons. Even tough Datuk Samy has been addressing all the issues which were earlier been avoided by him. He still has a long way to go to earn back the people's trust and respect. I personnel y think he needs the peoples backing on this issues because he is still a very strong man with political power and He can do much more now for the people without the government holding him back. I feel we should let him do his part before he leaves for good.
The 5 guys in ISA is still a very big concern to the Indian public. As the government still does not want to address their wrong doings. Where this would end up is still a big question mark.
Another news that bothers me is that the rise in fuel price which should also benefit the Malaysian government because we are also fuel exporters. It's US$117 for a barrel now. Why would it be a burden to our country? In subsidies? Maybe someone could explain it to me. Talking about the fuel price, the High Speed Electric train between KL and Singapore would have been the answer to our prayers but the government dropped the project. Air travel price will only keep going up. And our government reduces our options. No new Bridge, No new Immigration and No new alternative travel. What happen to our famous slogan "Malaysia Boleh".
So lets see if Anwar can turn around all this problem and make Malaysia a more efficient, clean, peaceful and democratic country. There is talks of making Malaysian Press free from government control. Hard to believe but lets hope they do.
